Before Larkstone, we founded companies, ran engineering teams and delivered multi-million pound projects. As technology moved forward, and as passionate engineers, we started to build things that improved the inner workings of the businesses we founded and consulted for beyond our expectations.
We started Larkstone because what we offer sits at the perfect intersection of what we love to do - simplify and solve complex problems, design and build cutting edge software solutions, and help people and businesses on their journey.

Meet the founders

Josh
Josh has spent his career working on the awkward problems that sit between business and technology — the processes that have grown too complicated, systems that no longer quite fit, and projects where the technical answer isn’t obvious.
He started as a software and data engineer and has since moved through architecture, technical strategy, engineering leadership, and consultancy, delivering multi-million-pound programmes along the way.
What he enjoys most is getting underneath how a business actually works: understanding where time, money, or momentum is being lost, and figuring out whether software, automation, AI — or sometimes simply a better process — can remove the constraint.
That combination of hands-on engineering and strategic leadership means Josh is as comfortable discussing business priorities with senior leadership as he is working through the architecture with an engineering team.
At Larkstone, he focuses on making sure technology earns its place by producing a measurable improvement to the business.

Max
Max’s career started in the music technology industry with designing and building live sound and studio infrastructure. He then went on to build and exit from a successful production and agency company.
His love of technology naturally took him towards software engineering starting as a full stack developer and moving into leadership and strategy roles where he has lead engineering teams to deliver large-scale projects predominantly in the finance sector.
Max’s strengths lie in simplifying the complex which not only serves him in his ability to communicate across stakeholders, but cut through the noise to solve large-scale and complex issues. Alongside helping people and businesses, this is the part of his job he enjoys the most and is his main focus at Larkstone.
